KLEIN, David

1986 gründen die Schweizer Musiker Josef Bollag und David Klein das Duo, das den Grundstein für die Klezmer-Band Kol Simcha (jetzt World Quintet) legt. Während der Gründerjahre übernimmt Josef Bollag das Management der Band, während die aktiven Musiker sich zum Quintett vermehren. David Klein, der Schlagzeuger des Ensembles, studierte am berühmten Berklee College Of Music in Boston. Er arbeitete bisher u. a. mit Dee Dee Bridgewater, Billy Cobham, Kenny Clarke und Victor Bailey. Seine erste Solo-CD "My Marilyn" gewann 2002 den European Jazz Award und erntete internationales Aufsehen.
