Arthur Hnatek (pronounced Na-Tek) drummer/composer is a contemporary musician, whose career has been flying since 2013. Active as an electronica artist, Arthur performs and produces live solo-electronic music in his project SWIMS. He is also active as a composer in his jazz trio (ZKB Jazzpreis winner) or with the quartet Melismetiq.

Arthur has traveled the world drumming with Nonesuch and ECM recording pianist Tigran Hamasyan (appears on his album The Call Whithin, Mockroot) or part of the Erik Truffaz Quartet (Lune Rouge, Doni Doni). Those experiences has led him to establish his drumming as a highly acclaimed international musician.

After his studies in New York City (The New School), he started touring as a drummer and quickly established himself as a highly in-demand sideman musician. He has been seen performing with Shai Maestro, Dhafer Youssef, Hans Zimmer, Donny McCaslin, Vincent Peirani, Gregoire Maret, Sophie Hunger or Linda May-Han Oh just to name a few. On the other side, Arthur is an active composer and teacher. He has composed for the DKSJ project, youth symphony orchestras as well as jazz ensembles in many music colleges around Europe.

He lives today in Zürich.
